Emergency Release

The “Get Loose” Kit Everyone who does bondage should have a few tools handy just in case a piece of equipment decides to break and not release itself, or in the case of an emergency where you need to get someone free in a hurry. Having a few basic items close to the play area can make any mishaps easy enough to resolve in a safe manner. - Have at least one extra key for every item with a lock on it. Keys, especially little ones for padlocks have a mind of their own.

- If you’re using metal items you’ll need bolt cutter and a hacksaw (with several spare blades), a vice to hold them in place if they need to be cut for any reason, and some oil. - If the lock has jammed but the item they are holding is fairly loose it can be possible to get free using something like baby oil (or even regular lube) to slip out of restraints without having to hack them up - When dealing with rope or leather you should always have a good quality pair of scissors around. Medical scissors are one of the best types for this.

- Stubborn knots can be pried loose with any strong piece of metal that comes to a hard point, for example an awl or a knitting needle would do for this task. - A pair of needle-nosed pliers can be used for gripping and pulling at knots or tightened rope and are easy and cheap to get a hold of

- If all else fails you may need to cut through rope, the best tool is a sharp knife with a short narrow blade. Use it in a controlled manner and with good light however, even in an emergency release no-one wants to be cut up by a careless top.
